Karim Albert Kook (World Blues)
Born one on a January evening in Algiers (Algeria), in the district Hussein Deï, it is in France where Karim Albert Kook who came to seek medical treatment for a disease that eventually lead to his loss of mobility spent his childhood. He was 9 years old when his brother gave him his first guitar, a magical and decisive gift that would eventually seal his fate.
By that time Karim who was already totally fascinated by blues music knew he would follow the path of music.
If the trip from Hussein Deï to the cosmopolitan district of Barbès in Paris is long, the link between these two cities is certainly musical.
« Monde » in French means world and Karim Albert Kook's world is as wide as the sounds referred to in his albums. Songs with a true bluesy soul for a trance straight out of One Thousand and One Nights, dedicated to Africa and the world as a whole…
Karim has played on big stages with internationally renowned artists such as BB King (Palais des Congres de Paris), Duke Robillard (Cafe de la Danse), Luther Allison (Petit Journal du Montparnasse), Bill Deraime (Espace Julien, Marseille), David Koven… and participated in many festivals: Marseille Garden Festival, Blues Festival on the Seine, Faró Festival, (Portugal), Raina raï Festival (Montreal).
He performs solo, with a duo, a trio or with a full band, mixing standard and ethnic musical instruments. Concerts suitable for all audiences and lovers of good music!
