KLEZMER KAOS (cocktail islando klezmer)
Heiða Björg Johannsdottir is a talented young clarinetist who comes from the cold.
In Iceland, her native country, she fell in love with Klezmer music. In 2004 she won the First prize for clarinet at the Conservatory of Reykjavik. She arrived in Paris the same year and began looking for musicians able to interpret this type of music.
Shortly afterwards Klezmer Kaos was founded. Here are five musicians coming from very different music worlds who propel us to remote places at the mercy of their music.
"Their repertoire is a storybook and every song tells a story in a rhythmic and melodic flow. Sometimes it is the story of a beautiful journey in a suave and languorous country to the sound of the violin, clarinet and accordion and sometimes a traditional Jewish crazy dance that ignites the room and gives wings even to poor dancers.
The audience never comes out unscathed from a Klezmer Kaos concert because their energy and chemistry on stage is contagious, they invite us to join them in their world and you laugh, dance, clap in the hands, the public is a big family united by music in a cocktail of energy.
The strength of Klezmer Kaos is also their difference. Heiða who plays the clarinet fascinates us with her force and magnetic presence. She surrounded herself with talented musicians such as Polvèche Pierre, who like his accordion imparts humour, charm and joviality.
Under his seraphic manners Charles Rappoport, the distinguished violinist lurks a great musical maturity.
Sylvain Plommet the bass player embodies consistency and serenity while Laurent Lacoult, the drummer, keep an eye to ensure the accuracy and unity of the group."(Source: leaflet Klezmer Kaos.).
Klezmer Kaos perform as quintet comprising : accordion, bass, violin, drums and clarinet. Concerts suitable for all audiences.
