RAMIRO NAKA

RAMIRO NAKA (African music from Guinea Bissau)

Born in Guinea Bissau, Ramiro NAKA speaks of Guinean people as "the Latins of Africa". As an illustration of  this image, the Guinean music is a clever mix of African traditions, Portuguese colonial legacy, Brazilian brotherhood and Caribbean cousinhood. Thus, Ramiro

Naka proposes a music influenced by the Fado music, the Rumba and Salsa while keeping the strength of African tradition. Naka likes to share with the European public the culture of his country. In Paris, he performed on renowned stages for world music such as the Satellit Café and the New Morning. He was also invited to many festivals in France and abroad.

Recognized by French and Portuguese cultural authorities as an ambassador of the African Portuguese culture, NAKA is regularly invited to perform Gumbe music in cultural centres. He also played recently at the UNESCO.

NAKA Ramiro ensemble comprises 2 to 4 additional musicians, with or without dancers. Concerts suitable for all audiences.
