Afro-urban dances are African-inspired dances that take you on a journey from Los Angeles to Johannesburg via Abidjan.
Afro-urban dances are a blend of modernity and tradition.
The rich and varied steps, movements and attitudes are mixed with different influences from urban dance (hip-hop, dancehall, etc.) and African dance (Coupé Décalé, N'dombolo, Afro Beat and Afrohouse).
Classes focus on learning the basics of the various modern African dances. The aim is to help students discover all the postures that are essential to the practice of these dances (movements, undulation of the pelvis, etc.), without forgetting to work in depth on expression and style.
The choreographies are set to sunny, rhythmic music that reflects Africa.
