Onda Cubana

When musicians from Havana meet in Paris, and especially when they compose, they usually find their way to the concert halls very quickly.

Onda Cubana was initiated by the singer-guitarist Carlos Napoles, a student of Compay Segundo and the tresero Over Martinez Alvarez. The two artists met in 2005 and formed the Onda Cubana quartet for the theatre show Barrio Flores, created in Paris at the Chalet des Iles, followed by a tour (Geneva, Avignon festival, Montpellier, Rueil Malmaison festival). Onda Cubana is above all a story of friendship and complicity.

The voices of the musicians come together in perfect harmony and render a beautiful tribute to Cuban music in all its richness and diversity. They take us to the land of the son, bolero, cumbia, cha cha ... Songs with a deep soul through which the whole Cuban soul expresses its joys, sorrows, loves and struggles but also its humor.

The repertoire of the group, rich in songs by these two Cuban composers and matched with the most beautiful standards of Cuban music has a real exotic freshness, for sunny and colorful shows.

Onda Cubana is currently one of the groups that produces the most authentic Cuban «sound» by drawing its inspiration from the sources of traditional music of the Cuban countryside... Since then, they are regularly present in various renowned venues in France and abroad.
